AARP ranked six Wisconsin cities as most livable in the U.S., including, Milwaukee, Madison, Fitchburg, Sheboygan, Lacrosse and Sun Prairie. This ranking is based on the AARP Livability Index, which uses more than 50 national data sources to score every neighborhood in the U.S. based on seven categories. Categories include livability, housing, neighborhood, transportation, environment, health, engagement and opportunity.
AARP shares a few attributes about the top ranked Sheboygan city, “Sheboygan has a transportation system that is 100 percent accessible and ADA compliant, while most neighborhoods are walkable. The city promotes civic engagement with a senior center, museums, and plenty or nature trails and parks for those who love to be outdoors.”
